How To Bet On 2022 Belmont Stakes in Canada

The 2022 Belmont Stakes will take place at Belmont Park this Saturday June 11th. There is no Triple Crown possibility this year. Kentucky Derby winner, Rich Strike, chose to skip the Preakness Stakes in order to focus on this Belmont Stakes race, forgoing his shot at the Triple Crown.

Even without the possibility of a Triple Crown winner the Belmont Stakes is still one of the biggest races of the year and I expect significant betting action on the race. For this reason I wanted to add this simple 3 step guide to betting on the Belmont Stakes for all of the new bettors eager to get some action on the Belmont Stakes this year.

#3. Place Your Belmont Stakes Bets

Now that you have funds online you’re ready to place your wagers.

Fixed Odds Winner Betting

Select ‘Sports’ from the top menu bar on the SportsInteraction.com website.  Click on the ‘Horse Racing’ tab and then the ‘Belmont Stakes’ link.  This will bring up the Belmont Stakes futures odds as shown below.  These are fixed odds so when you place your bet the wager is locked in at these odds.

**These odds were taken on June 8th and could change leading up to race day.

Mo Donegal and We the People are the two favourites heading into this years Belmont Stakes race, while Derby winner, Rich Strike, is the third favourite.

Racebook Betting (Parimutuel Betting System)

Select ‘Racebook’ from the top menu bar of the Sports Interaction website. Next you’ll need to select Belmont Park under the ‘American Thoroughbred’ tab. Select ‘Jun 11’ and race #13 with a post time of 6:44pm for the Belmont Stakes.

Select the the type of bet you want to place (striaght, exacta, etc), enter your bet amounts and click ‘Add to Race Card’. You will then have to select ‘Place Bet’ to confirm the wagers.

Here’s a screenshot from this years Belmont Stakes showing a “win” bet on Rich Strike:

The betting in the Racebook is different because it’s done using the parimutuel betting system.  This basically means that the odds are determined by the amount of money bet on each horse through the day.  In other words the odds can change between when you place your bet and when the bets are locked in when the race starts.  Learn more on our parimutuel betting page here.

You’ll also notice there are a few varieties of betting options including win, place or show, and exotic bets such as exacta, trifecta or superfecta.  I suggest checking out our horse racing betting info page if you’re new to horse race wagering.
